OYO 16975 Hotel Golden View

The food wasn't good, and overall the service was poor. We had to check out at 7 a.m., but there was no water in the bathroom that morning. We complained, but they couldn't arrange any. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, and the bedsheet, blankets, and pillows were dirty, though they did change them after we raised it. The staff were gentle and friendly, but the hospitality still wasn't good enough. There was also no parking near the hotel.

The sheets were dirty and the floor was so grimy I couldn't walk around barefoot. The rooms looked nothing like the pictures online, and when we'd already paid, they still refused to help carry our luggage. This place isn't good even for a one-night stay, especially for a family. They could do better.

The room didn't have a working WiFi connection, so we had to use mobile data. One cupboard handle was missing, the water was cut off partway through, and the bathroom wasn't clean. We came back at night after a party and found there was no extra mattress for the third person, even though we'd paid 200 rupees for one. One of us ended up sleeping in the next room because its door was open, and apparently we were the only guests in the whole hotel. We'd come from Chandigarh railway station looking for a room for a day nearby. At the exit, rickshaw drivers were negotiating fares. One driver overheard us and said he'd find a room for 500-600 rupees, warning us not to use OYO because it charged too much. We followed him and a friend to a village-like area, along pothole-filled roads and lanes under construction. We passed some good hotels but skipped them. The driver's friend went straight to reception. The room looked fine when we checked it, and we asked for WiFi because we needed internet for our laptops. The receptionist first quoted 1,200, though we'd been promised 500-600, then agreed to 800. The owner photos make the rooms and area look much cleaner than they are.

On my first OYO stay, the hotel said the room was a regular one, even though the booking said it had air conditioning, and demanded more money to make it an AC room. The fans didn't work, and they didn't provide a bedsheet. It was the worst hotel stay I've had. Even Dharamshala is better than OYO hotels, so I'd tell people to avoid OYO. OYO is the worst.
