Hotel Modern Palace

Not a good hotel. Several room heaters had blasts. One room was packed with people and had no clothes, and five people were sleeping in another room.

I’m writing this just after what happened on my husband’s birthday. The room was only okay, and there were several issues: the TV didn’t work and the washroom wasn’t clean. Then at 2:30 pm, while we were asleep, someone kept banging on the door. We were terrified. My husband opened it and saw a drunk man trying to sneak inside. We shut the door right away, but the room telephone wasn’t working, so we couldn’t call reception. We found the owner’s number on Google. He answered and listened, but that was all, with no questions or response. It was a frightening, unsafe stay.

The room itself was just good, but basic amenities were missing. We had to ask before they provided soaps, towels, and other toiletries. Parking wasn’t proper, and there weren’t employees to serve customers well. They made lame excuses for these shortcomings. I didn’t have a good experience.

The rates are reasonable and the rooms are quite good. I wasn’t keen on the area, though. I had no safety concerns: the staff were good and the CCTV cameras were working fine. Otherwise, it’s a nice place to stay, with no issues.
