Getting to Chennai takes some planning: the hotel is actually in Chengalpattu, at least 50 km from the city, though buses and local trains run there often. The property itself is compact, more like a duplex house whose bedrooms have been turned into guest rooms. It was well kept, with a crisp white exterior, and felt a little nicer than other Oyo rooms at a similar price in the cities I’ve visited. The rooms are small, though, and the basic room setup felt much like other Oyo properties. I arrived at 1 pm after travelling through three cities in under 24 hours, but my room wasn’t ready until I reported to the hotel. I would have appreciated being able to settle in straight away. Oyo offers complimentary checkout until 1 pm, yet I was told to leave at 11 am.

The caretakers were really courteous, and finding the place was easy. My room smelled fresh, and the stay was peaceful and enjoyable. I honestly felt a little guilty getting a room like that at such a good price. Thanks, Oyo.

The room was huge, neat, and spacious, and it’s a decent option in Chengalpattu since the other places are pathetic. Getting around is a problem, though. Nobody nearby seemed to know the hotel, and Google Maps sends you the wrong way. Ola can help with that. There aren’t any nearby restaurants either, so Swiggy is your option. The staff were senseless.

I was disappointed to find that basic things like bathing soap, towels, and a floor mat weren’t available. I was told none of them could be provided, even though I was paying around 2k per day. The rooms themselves were good.

The rooms and service were good, and it feels more like a large house than a hotel. But the address they send when you book is wrong, and the Google Maps pin is wrong too. Both need correcting.
