We’d traveled 27 kilometers from Perambur after reserving two rooms on OYO, only to have the staff rudely cancel the booking and demand more because the listed price was lower. It was a deeply disappointing experience for us as tourists, especially after coming such a distance and expecting basic courtesy. I strongly advise against staying here, and I’d avoid OYO altogether.

Our OYO booking price wasn’t accepted by the manager, and he didn’t want to give us a room at that rate. The room was dirty, the TV wasn’t available, and the AC didn’t work properly. Complaining to OYO changed nothing, even though we’d paid for AC and television. They had us speak with the manager on a conference call, but when we arrived he treated us badly. OYO seems to promote these hotels for money, not customer satisfaction, and apparently can’t get a refund from the hotel. Don’t waste your money on OYO.

I ended up paying 1500 rupees for one night because I had no other option, but the hotel was awful and not worth that price. The receptionist said they couldn’t accept the OYO rate because it hadn’t been revised yet. Don’t book this place, or even go near it.

We were forced to leave the room even after paying the rate they had demanded. The owner backed the receptionist and said we’d have to vacate or pay another ₹1500. The receptionist was rude and had no manners when speaking to customers or my elderly parents. This all started when I booked one night, 18 January to 19 January, on OYO for 672/- and received confirmation. My old mother, father, and I were traveling by train from Kerala to Chennai, arriving around 2 am. I called the hotel from the station to confirm the booking and late check-in, and staff said they would let us in. When we reached, they claimed no booking showed on their end and asked for 1500/- as walk-in guests. With no other choice, I paid and checked in around 2:00 am for 18/1/25 to 19/1/25. The next morning, while we were at the market, staff called and told me to check out. I explained we’d only checked in that morning after paying them 1500Rs. At the hotel, the receptionist demanded another 1500/- or said we had to leave. They wouldn’t listen, and we had to check out. They show a low price online and then charge more at the property. I urge people to avoid checking in, and OYO, Booking.com, and Agoda should remove this property from their websites. Legal action should be taken against the receptionist and owner.
