Courtyard by Marriott Chennai

Mr. Suraj Singh deserves special thanks for the outstanding service. The food was fresh, flavorful, and nicely prepared, with a great variety of dishes served hot. It was a wonderful dining experience at this hotel.

The basic twin room was a little tiny and congested, though tidy and well kept. Staff and management were top class, very responsive and proactive. We needed cold storage, and they supported us in every way they could. It’s your basic lower tier Marriot, but I’d stay again.

I mainly choose this hotel for its location and my Bonvoy membership, though Chennai has better hotels for the same price. The breakfast spread could have been better attended, and the service felt a bit indifferent compared with the Courtyard brand. It was more about the pace, though, and there were no untoward incidents. The location is excellent, almost in the middle of Mount Road. AG- DMS metro station is 20 metres away, and there’s a connection from the airport, so I took the metro here without hassle. The room was comfortable and much as I remembered from a decade ago, but it could use an upgrade to suit modern tastes. Many guests are here for US visa applications. The hotel offers a one-way drop to the consulate, about a five-minute drive, or up to ten minutes during peak hours.

We booked the banquet halls at Courtyard by Marriott Chennai for a business meeting. The pricing was very reasonable and good value for central Chennai, and the space and setup were functional for our meetings. Food quality and banquet service were the letdown. The food didn’t meet expectations for the price, and the team was slow and disorganized, affecting the event. The hotel was built around 2005-06. Some parts are maintained, but several areas need renovation and modernization to match Marriott brand standards and guest expectations.
