Kalyan Hometel, Vandalur

We had a comfortable two-day stay with the family. The rooms were clean, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all top notch. We called the hotel to book, and Mr. Kamesh patiently explained everything. They let us check in at 9 AM without an extra charge, and valet parking was available. Very satisfied.

I stayed at Kalyan Grand Business Hotel, at 247, GST Road, next to Vandalur Zoo in Chennai, from 15th February to 17th February. My overall rating would be 2.5 out of 5 because of a bad meal at Flavours, the ground floor restaurant. I ordered kebabs and butter naan, but only the kebabs arrived. After waiting around 40 minutes and telling three different staff members the naan was missing, I still got no proper response. They brought it only when I went to pay the bill.

Mr. Sandeep kept the room very clean and handled it professionally. His attention to detail helped make the stay comfortable and pleasant. The service was very good.

Kalyan Grand failed to show the hospitality or professionalism I'd expect from a business hotel. Passengers waiting for buses outside were told not to stand in front of the property, and staff spoke to them rudely and disrespectfully, as though they were a nuisance. Some staff members were especially arrogant toward women and showed no basic courtesy. If this is how people outside are treated, I can only imagine how guests might be treated inside. I can't recommend the hotel and strongly advise others to avoid it.
