Hotel Victoria

I stayed here on sep 5th,2025, after having stayed a few years ago when everything was good. This time the bedding was unclean, the sheets hadn’t been changed, the toilets were dirty, and the service was poor. Reception blamed the state of things on renovation. If the hotel isn’t ready for guests, it shouldn’t accept reservations. For Rs.3000 per day with no breakfast or food, that dump of a room wasn’t worth the money. Don’t consider it, or at least check the room before booking. VICTORIA hotel - Kennet lane , egmore - you stink!

Some guests say the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, with comfortable beds, good linens and effective air conditioning. They describe the décor as simple and functional, and the staff as courteous, helpful and quick to respond. The location is convenient, near Egmore Railway Station and Chennai’s business and leisure areas. Still, some reviews mention that the bathrooms need better maintenance and the satisfactory breakfast could use more variety. OYO Palette - Hotel Victoria at 3, Kennet Lane, Egmore, Chennai offers a mix of modern amenities and traditional charm, and seems like decent value for a centrally located stay for business or leisure.

We got a room right away as walk-ins for 3500 a night, after a kind-hearted auto fellow brought us here. We ended up here because our prior booking at the oyo township Everest hotel at Chennai Central had no rooms available. The room was ok, but the problems added up: mosquitoes and cockroaches, the lift issue kept happening and it eventually got shut down, and internet and system problems meant we got no final bill at checkout. Nothing was complimentary, there was no restaurant of their own, and yelping puppies on the property added to the woes. Stay only if you have no other option.

The rooms were filthy and crawling with cockroaches. During the hot summer, the fans and AC stop when the power goes out, and there’s no generator. The lift wasn’t working either, so we had to climb the stairs to the second floor. A terrible stay. I wouldn’t risk booking here.
