FabHotel Venkeys Service Apartment

This place was awful. The caretakers were rude, everything was dirty, and the bed linen looked like it had never been washed. The approach was in terrible shape, with things broken all around. There’s a tea stall right downstairs that’s always crowded. Don’t be taken in by the reviews. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

We liked our stay here, and the price was reasonable. Our room, 302 on the third floor, was clean, as was the toilet. There were three cots, one double and two singles, so four people could sleep there. Breakfast was good, and both the owner and chef were helpful. The service was really good too. The common hall had sofas, a table, chairs, and a refrigerator. We picked this service apartment for its proximity to our meeting, and it was also near restaurants and other places to visit. There’s no designated parking, but we found a spot nearby. The entrance can feel unpleasant because of the tea shop below and the crowd there. The lift is old, and you have to close it properly to make it work.

I was there for three and a half days, and the stay was a letdown. I’d relied on six-year-old Google Maps photos and a positive review from two months earlier, so the actual condition was much worse than I expected. The bed was hard, noisy, and had damaged springs, which made sleep difficult. The AC ran at 17°C for two and a half days without making the room feel cool, and the fan only reached my legs. WiFi was so weak, measured in kbps, that even Instagram and WhatsApp images wouldn’t load. There was no food service. On my last day, they wouldn’t provide tea or coffee on the fourth floor, saying it was only for company use. The entrance smelled horrible, like a dead rat, and the common room smelled bad too. There were no room fresheners. I also found the tea shop downstairs extremely unhygienic throughout my stay. Unless you need a place for one night, this felt like a waste of money. If comfort, hygiene, or basic food service matters to you, avoid it. The old online photos and recent positive review made the disappointment worse.

The location is great, but everything else was below average, cleanliness included.
