Grand Continent Premiere - T Nagar

I stayed at Hotel M Grand from Feb 9-11. On Feb 11, I paid the full bill, including the room, restaurant and laundry charges, and told reception I needed to check out at 7:00 PM for a midnight flight. They said the payment was final and even asked for tips. After lunch and shopping, I came back to freshen up and was told I had to pay for a whole extra day to leave at 7:00 PM, or 50% if I checked out within 30 minutes. Getting my wife and 5-year-old ready that fast while handling travel plans wasn't realistic. After a phone conversation with the MD, they agreed to charge 50% for the 7:00 PM checkout, but the damage was done. The money wasn't the point. It was the poor communication and disregard for a tourist's time. Asking for tips and advance laundry payment while failing to mention checkout fees felt very unprofessional. The rooms were clean and the general hospitality was good, but the lack of transparency soured the stay.

I attended a workshop at M Grand, Chennai with some fellow doctors, and the staff's care made it a memorable experience. They remembered our names, shared useful local tips, and handled requests promptly and kindly. Everyone we met, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant team, was welcoming, professional, and attentive. I'd recommend this place to anyone who values good service.

The hotel is close to the Chennai VAC biometrics centre. The rooms were comfortable, and the atmosphere was cool, with welcoming, attentive staff. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was good. We ordered dinner as well, and that was tasty too.

We had a hot water problem, but the staff promptly moved us to another room. The AC wasn't working properly, though setting it to 16c made the room comfortable. Service was excellent throughout, with friendly, quick, attentive staff, and breakfast had lots of good options. The rooms themselves were nice and comfortable. There was a slight damp smell, so more ventilation would help. The friendly woman at the front desk was somewhat pushy about tips and extra charges, which came across as unprofessional. Still, it was a pleasant stay, with a few things to improve.
