Hotel Thaj Regency

The location is good, but the rooms are very small and there's nowhere to park. We got no towels, soap, drinking water, or intercom, and there was no room service. The person at reception behaved poorly. Check this place against your needs and other, cheaper options before you book.

The checkout was a mess. I called the office to ask someone to come, waited 15 minutes, then went downstairs. The manager, who was probably from Odisha or West Bengal, called me into the office rudely and pointed out I was 25 minutes past checkout. He asked why, though I'd already been calling for someone to come. Then he demanded 500*2= 1000/- INR for the two rooms. I've stayed here before, and I was ready to argue back in his own language; a gentleman eventually stepped in and told me to leave without paying extra. The room itself was tiny, with cockroaches, a damaged bed, and a leaking bathroom basin. The toilet spray was on the floor. Water from the AC fell in the bathroom and could land on your head. Cleanliness nearby, room size, and facilities were all bad. The manager lacked basic guest communication skills. This was my worst stay, and I can't recommend the place.

I booked a super deluxe room for 3,200 rupees a day, but it smelled awful and had bedbugs everywhere. I checked out first thing in the morning. Don't book here.

There's no restaurant inside, but this is a nice budget hotel for Muslim travelers. A street food market and Triplicane Big Mosque are nearby, and Marine Beach is an easy walk away.
