Lemon Tree Hotel Shimona

The restaurant’s breakfast buffet was fresh and satisfying, with a mix of South Indian and continental choices. I stayed three nights in the first week of September and had a wonderful time. The location worked well for business, with easy access to the airport and nearby industrial areas. Rooms were cozy, clean, and kept in good order, and housekeeping left everything spotless and neatly arranged each day. Check-in and check-out were effortless, and the courteous, professional staff were always ready to help. The hotel maintained good hygiene and comfort throughout. Lemon Tree Hotel, Shimona Chennai, felt like good value, with cheerful service and a pleasant atmosphere. I’d choose it again on my next Chennai visit.

We arrived without a booking, although online portals showed rooms available. The receptionist said everything was booked without checking the system, then dismissed my point and went back to work as if I were soliciting. I booked through Agoda on the spot and showed her the voucher to prove availability. After a couple of calls to her manager and a ten-minute wait, we got a room. It was alright, but not worth the price. The bathtub didn’t work, and the third-floor lobby smelled strongly of cigarettes. We were there briefly, so skipped breakfast and can’t comment on it. The limited parking was useful to us.

Room 305 was in poor condition. Water backed up through the faulty bathroom drain, the sink was clogged, and the bathroom layout was badly designed. There wasn’t even a lock on the bathroom door.

The food was amazing, like home-style cooking, and the hotel staff were very humble. Annie at citrus cafe lemon tree was especially helpful and polite with all the customers. Keep up the good work.
