The reception staff tried to be friendly, and there are grocery shops, salons, and food places nearby. The free breakfast was good enough. Still, I had a rough eight-day stay: the rooms were dirty, the sheets had blood stains, and the TV had no paid subscription. We repeatedly asked for room cleaning, but staff never seemed to want to come. There were mosquitos everywhere, and the all-out they gave us was useless. The hotel is far from the main city, so taxi fares can add up and put you in a tight spot. It isn't awful for the price, but there are a lot of things to fix before I'd return. Book only if you're really short on money and can cope with insects. If room cleaning improves by the time you visit, you might have a better stay than I did. Otherwise, only consider it if you get a discount through a booking site. If you can afford a better stay in Chennai and don't need to visit the two nearby apollos, this isn't the place for you.

I stayed there last week and regret it. The sheets had stains, and I still can't shake the memory of them. There was no hot water, the TV didn't work, and the AC remote was broken. Basic hygiene and facilities were missing, and staff acted dumb whenever I asked a question. I think the reviews are fake. It seems aimed at people booking by the hour, though that isn't made clear on the online portals. Don't stay here with family or for a business trip.

Getting around takes planning: the hotel is outside Ola and Uber's operating limits in Thoraipakkam, and there’s no travel desk or foreign exchange counter like you'd find in a bigger hotel. The small restaurant downstairs has seats for around 15 people and doesn't cook on site. Food comes from the "Curryz & Gravyz" kitchen at the front of the hotel, and possibly other places too. The food is fairly good and reasonably priced. On the review date, Chicken Biriyani with one large piece of chicken and enough rice cost Rs.100/=. Only free TV channels are available. The room walls had scratches and needed colour-washing, while the toilets need maintenance to look clean and attractive. Not all staff wore uniforms, and the service didn't feel professional. My stay at this OYO Hotel wasn't entirely enjoyable. There are some good points: the location is excellent, near the main road and several restaurants and eating places. It was quiet and clean, dealings seemed honest and decent, an ATM was close by, and parking in the hotel's compound could fit about three large cars plus several two-wheelers. We spent 20 minutes searching because there was no OYO sign or anything to identify the hotel. We had booked a classic room, but on arrival were told none was available and were moved to a deluxe room that cost an extra 1000 bucks. The AC was in awful condition, the bedding accessories were rusty, and the sheets hadn't been changed. The pillows had curry spilled on them. Maybe they expected us to sleep on those, who knows 😟 The customer service was terrible. Please never book here. OYO needs to take immediate action. Even one star is too much.
