OYO Flagship 61501 The Sunshine

The hotel called after I booked at a discounted price on the OYO website and asked me to cancel because the rate was too cheap. I cancelled because I didn't want to risk a bad stay with staff who weren't welcoming, and now I don't know when OYO will refund me. If the hotel won't accept the prices listed on OYO, why sign up there? It feels like they're cheating customers. I could never reach OYO customer care by phone or chat either. Very bad experience with both the company and the OYO room people.

The rooms were really shabby, and the staff behaved badly. I booked online for 600, as listed on the website, but when I arrived they said they had an issue with OYO and wanted 1200 for 24 hours. I only needed two hours to freshen up. After speaking with the owner, they offered two hours for 1000 instead. That made no sense, and after I paid, they were asking when I'd leave as soon as the two hours were up. Completely ridiculous and unethical. Not a place I'd stay, minus five rating.

The rooms are pretty good and the rates are affordable. But they aren't currently accepting OYO bookings, and may charge extra even if you've already booked through OYO. Be aware.

Don't rely on the Oyo app ratings. The owner stands beside guests and asks them to rate the hotel while they're right there, which is why the app ratings look good. I'm leaving my review here on Google instead.
