The photos on Google and MakeMyTrip make the rooms look tidy, but the upkeep in person is poor. The cupboards weren't clean, and the bed and cushion were small. The bedcover looked a little dirty, too, and smoke from outside got into the room. There were spider webs on the bathroom ceiling, an old mirror, a damaged flush, and a faulty tap that leaked and had low water flow. There was no hot water, which was really difficult in winter. At ₹1200 for a non-AC room, the cleanliness and quality aren't worth the price and need improvement. It might be okay for one person or friends, but I wouldn't recommend it for couples or families.

It's well located, though tucked away, and reasonably priced. Compared with similar priced places in Chennai, the value for money is very good. Chennai itself is simply horrible. Stay in a star hotel there, or with friends or relatives.

A really, really bad lodge and a waste of money. The staff behaved well, but there was dust and it wasn't clean, the water was salty, and the TV had problems. There were power cuts, the bedsheet was damaged, and the place smelled. The non-AC room costs 635, not 850. Very bad lodge.

I paid 700rs for a single non-AC room. The toilet was very clean, the only good thing I found, and the staff were good. Geysers are available, and it's very close to the central railway station. There was no food, so you have to go to nearby hotels. Murugan idly shop was disappointing, while national durbar hotel is famous for it's Biryani and meat. The lodge is down a small gali off the main road, in a shady area. The beds weren't clean and the rooms weren't as expected, though manageable for a night. The water was super salty. Nothing comes with the room, not even a blanket, shampoo, or soap. It doesn't seem suitable for families or women staying alone, though I saw a couple of families there. I'd suggest it for a one night or one day stay like mine. Good luck exploring Chennai! Nandri!
