The Lotus Apartment Hotel, Venkatraman Street

During our two-week trip from Canada, we found this a very convenient place to stay. It was also close to my Aunty's home and easy to get anywhere from here. The room was comfortable and spacious, and it stayed clean and hygienic the whole time. The restaurant's in-room service and the daily breakfast in the breakfast or brunch room were both delicious. Great service and food quality, with hygiene kept up well. Highly recommend.

The idli buffet was the highlight, wholesome and nutritious, with fruit. It's an excellent location, within walking distance of Pondy Bazaar and near the VFS center by Hyatt Regency.

I had a great three-night stay here. The restaurant was good, and the room and linens were always clean and comfortable. My only disappointment was that the air conditioner in my standard single room didn't work for two nights. Japanese travelers who are particular about these things should like it here too. I'll definitely visit again. Nandri!

We were charged for an extra bed in our suite, even though there wasn't a proper third bed. Housekeeping brought a cheap mattress like you'd find in a Lodge and said it counted as the adult guest's extra bed. When we asked for an explanation, the property manager insisted it came without a frame and expected someone to sleep on the floor. He promised a single room for the extra guest by 12pm the next day, but deliberately held it back until 11.30pm, leaving us stuck in the same suite. His unprofessional, disgusting behaviour showed he was completely unsuited to managing this property. He's fit to run a Lodge, not a proper hotel. This was by far the worst accommodation I experienced on my trip in Tamil Nadu. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
