The Retreat

I stayed one night and found cockroaches all over the room. The facility doesn't seem maintained at all. The location is good, but in a road-facing room the roadside noise at night was really disturbing.

I can't give less than one star, so one it is. At ₹2240/- per day, this lousy hotel wasn't worth staying in. The room smelled foul and cockroaches wandered everywhere, from the cupboard and toilet to even the beds. There was no room service, with only two people working, one at reception and one in housekeeping. The toilet was absolute garbage. There's no covered car parking, so you have to leave the car on the road platform. Anyone looking at this, you'd be better off sleeping on the platform than staying here.

I booked eight rooms at Hotel Retreat Selaiyur two months ahead for my daughter's wedding. The booking staff took my details, wrote everything in a register, and assured me the rooms were reserved. When I asked about paying an advance, they told me to come back 10-15 days before the wedding. But when I returned today with the advance, another clerk said there was no booking under my name and every room was full. I raised it with the manager and got no proper resolution. I'm left frustrated and helpless, and can't recommend the hotel after this.

The maintenance was poor, and the experience was very bad. A waste of money.
