The location was a real convenience, close to major shopping centres for meals, shopping, and exploring without going far. I spent a week here and found the room clean and well looked after. Housekeeping cleaned it and changed the towels every day. The staff were friendly and welcoming from arrival, and ready to help with questions or requests. Their warm, professional service made me feel comfortable. I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel for its cleanliness, comfort, service, and location.

Pondy Bazaar and other nearby places were within walking distance, which was good. But the beds were spring-based and so uncomfortable that we had back pain. We were also charged Rs 800 per day for an extra bed that was in poor condition and uncomfortable. The bathroom smelled bad, and we had to call housekeeping to clean it. The bed was nowhere near hotel standard.

The location is really convenient, and everything was perfect for me in terms of the room, service, and access to places. This was my second visit to UPAR Hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were polite and helpful. I’ll definitely come back, highly recommend it 😊

We were there for one day in Feb 2026. The rooms were clean and well kept, and being in the main area meant most shops were easy to get to. There’s no complimentary breakfast. If you want food, let them know ahead of time so they can arrange it, or order online to your room. The only drawback for us was handling all our luggage ourselves from reception to the room, since no one was available to carry it.
