Dc Comforts

We spent four days here with family in Chikmagalur. It’s quiet, close to the city, and easy to reach, but the experience felt below average for the price. We booked at the last minute because options were limited. For a family trip, I’d look around for somewhere better. There are only non-AC rooms, which may be fine in cold weather but not in summer. There’s no restaurant or breakfast, so finding somewhere to eat in the morning takes extra time. Zomato and Swiggy deliver within the city, though the good choices are limited. Water bottles aren’t always available, so buy some while returning after dinner. There isn’t a proper parking lot, but there’s room for about 3 cars in front and a little open space beside the hotel. Some switches and remotes didn’t work. Reception was unattended most of the time, especially at night, and there was no security, which felt a little unsafe.

The experience was awful. The staff were careless, and nobody was available at reception.

I had to cancel at the last minute because of a personal emergency. The owner understood and refunded the full advance I’d paid. That was a compassionate gesture, putting a customer’s situation ahead of the business policies. It was great to see. I’d recommend the property, and I’d stay there myself if I get the chance in future.

The room was nice, and the king-size bed was good. Fine for spending a night.
