The room looked nice, and the hotel is in a great spot. The food was also genuinely top-notch. But the stay was let down by poor service and upkeep. We had leaks in the bathroom and hot water came and went, while management didn’t seem focused on looking after guests. With better service and those maintenance issues fixed, this place could be a top choice.
We stayed at Hotel Padmavati Fort View, Chittorgarh from 27th to 28th as a family: me, my wife, and my elderly parents. I’m giving one star only for the fort view from the rooftop restaurant. Otherwise, I’d give this place zero or even negative stars. I’ll be uploading photos and videos as proof. The rooftop view of Chittorgarh Fort is the one redeeming feature. The hotel is inside a shopping complex, though, not a standalone property. The rooms are on the 3rd floor and the restaurant is on the 4th, with no clear ground-level signage. We had to enter the mall and find a confusing, hidden lift. There’s no proper parking, just a narrow, unpaved dirt alley behind the building. We arrived by car and were completely lost, and staff didn’t help. The parking area felt unsafe, uncovered, and badly managed. We called ahead to say we’d be arriving late, but nobody answered. When staff eventually called back, they were rude and careless. At reception there was no welcome or acknowledgement, and we were left standing there awkwardly. The staff acted like they were doing us a favour. They were ill-trained, ill-mannered, and arrogant throughout. We were given rooms P01 and P09 near reception, which was a big mistake. There were no towels, pillow covers, or handwash when we arrived, and we were told the laundry hadn’t come yet. They’d left just one 1-litre local water bottle for two people. The rooms have no windows or ventilation. The beds are extremely low, lower than a toilet seat, and very uncomfortable. The mattresses were so bad you couldn’t even sit properly. One door wouldn’t close, and the ceiling bulbs flickered all night. The bathrooms were worse. Both had a strong drain smell, so bad that we couldn’t sleep all night. There were spider webs, a flush fitting coming out of the wall, and black fungus in the toilet bowl. Black particles came out after each flush. There was brown, sticky liquid inside the switchboards and flush buttons. One room had a plastic tap, and the other had a tap set so high that water splashed everywhere. Hot water took more than 10 minutes. The bathroom floor was higher than the room floor, which was dangerous for my elderly parents. Even sitting in there for five minutes was unbearable. Amenities were almost nonexistent: no handwash liquid or shampoo, just soap bars and two hard, badly washed towels. That’s completely unacceptable for the price. Breakfast was advertised for 8 to 10 AM, but when we arrived at 8:15, nothing was ready. Later they served poha sitting on an induction stove that wasn’t even switched on, aloo paratha, and bread and butter with no toaster. That was all, no real buffet or choice. We ordered four teas, three without sugar and one with sugar, but got the exact opposite. When we asked for it to be corrected, the server refused to bring more tea and responded arrogantly. What’s the point of breakfast being included if they can’t get a tea order right? The rooms near reception were a nightmare for sleep. Staff talked loudly all night and every sound carried into our room. At checkout we complained about the smell and the conditions, but nobody responded, apologised, or even acknowledged it. We just left, and they didn’t seem to care. This place is poorly managed, unhygienic, misleading, overpriced, and neither senior-citizen friendly nor family friendly. Don’t book it or fall for the “fort view” or “budget” labels. There are much better hotels in Chittorgarh.
The room and bathroom cleanliness was the main problem. Our sheets were stained, the washrooms hadn’t been cleaned, and there were cockroaches around. The geyser was missing and the bathroom exhaust fan didn’t work. Room service was very disappointing too. The food was good, and the hotel has a nice view of the fort, but the lack of cleanliness was hard to ignore.
I was in room 19 and the service was slow. In the morning I spent about an hour waiting for hot water. I finally had to push reception to let me use the bathroom in another room. It was a bad stay, and I won’t be back.
The fort view is lovely all day, and the evenings are spectacular. Food was tasty and very hygienic, and Manager Dheeraj and Bhimraj made us feel welcome and guided us well. I had no hot water or hygiene problems like some other comments mention. Great hospitality, I’ll come again. Thank U! 🙏🙏
