Fabhotel Karpagam

The plates we asked for were in such a bad state that I asked a staff member to smell them and guess what the previous guest had eaten. He laughed because it was obvious. Clearly, soap hadn't been part of the cleaning. The bedsheets and towels were stained and unclean, and the water bottle only came after we asked. The TV remote had dead batteries, so I had to turn the TV on manually, then it made a strange, otherworldly noise. The AC remote worked only when it felt like it. A scrap collection would be a better name. Truly a fantastic terrible experience.

We're really grateful to the hotel manager, who gave up so much of his weekend to sort out a personal issue with our luggage. His hospitality was incomparable. The room was lovely and well maintained too.

They gave us a water bottle, towel and soap for free, and the room was neat. Good spot, near gandhi puram bus stand.

We booked through Agoda and arrived during Shivaratri, and were pleasantly surprised by how AMAZING the hotel was. There was a small check-in issue, but Mr. Kumar, the hotel's manager, sorted it out straight away. He's humble, kind and helpful, and recommended a delicious restaurant nearby. When we asked for hot water, he sent a kettle to our room along with two towels and soaps. The TV, fan and AC all worked fine. The room showed some signs of use and age, but was otherwise super clean. The bathroom was big and clean too. The bed was maximum comfy for us foreigners, who aren't used to the hard mattresses we'd found at other hotels in India. The location couldn't be beat, close to restaurants, a bar, bus stand, railway station, temples, Pothys and many shops. We couldn't be happier with our choice to book and stay here. We'd highly recommend it. Fabhotel Karpagam is simply Fabulous!
