Hotel Cineplex

The rooms were great, and the staff were very polite. It’s a distinctive concept that’s been carried out almost flawlessly. The lane leading to the hotel is quite tight, though there’s parking on the premises. Two things would take the experience from a 4/5 to a 6/5 for me. I had to sign in to my own Netflix, YouTube, and Prime accounts, which was a hassle that didn’t seem necessary. Also, I brought a few short films I’d made to show my friends, but there was no way to play my own media. I hope they address those issues. I’d definitely visit again if I’m in Coimbatore.

The road outside is congested, which was the one letdown, although parking is available. Inside, the corridors are decorated with cinema pictures and give the hotel a real movie feel. Every room has a projector, so we enjoyed watching films and songs while lying in bed. The city view was beautiful, and there’s a rooftop restaurant too. Food was good, apart from the beverages. A great experience overall.

For a solo business trip, this was a comfortable, no-frills place to get a night's rest. My compact room was clean and had all the essentials, and the price was good value. Staff were courteous and responsive, even when I checked in late at night. The location in Gandhipuram is ideal, with transport and food options easy to reach. It isn't a luxury stay, but it suited my needs well.

They should have told me before I booked that the room was non-smoking. Nobody did, and after I checked out they said there was a charge. Is that fair? The receptionist also didn't speak to us respectfully. I hope this doesn't happen again next time. Happy New Year, and thanks.
