Hotel iStay

We checked in during December and paid around 2800 for a double-bed AC room near the Railway Station. It was well maintained, with hot water available 24 hours. Complimentary items included Goodday biscuits and water bottles, and breakfast was provided: dosa, idli, vada, upma, poha, bread and jam, egg, tea, coffee, watermelon, and papaya. Room service was quick and good. The Wi-Fi wasn't working, so check with reception before checking in. The window view wasn't clean either, with cigarette butts and ashes all over.

The noise was the biggest downside for us. Sounds from nearby restaurants carried on late into the night and made it hard to rest. The towel and bucket also looked unhygienic and poorly maintained, although the bathroom itself was acceptable and the shower worked well. We had a second-floor room at iStay Hotel, Coimbatore, less than 50 meters from the Central Railway Station, which is handy for train travelers. The room was decent but quite compact. It had free Wi-Fi, a TV with multiple channels, and an electric kettle. The mattress was comfortable, but the pillow was extremely stiff, more useful for back support than sleeping. The convenient location doesn't make up for the noise and maintenance issues for me. We wouldn't choose this hotel again.

The reception staff helped a lot when I developed a food allergy during our travels. They pointed me to a good hospital and guided me well. We were a senior citizen couple staying one night at "i Stay" on 05th Jan 2026. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the room was clean and well maintained. We didn't try breakfast because we checked out early. The room gets a bit noisy from activity in the neighboring hotels, which is why I gave it four stars. Even so, the stay was comfortable, and the courteous service made up for that. It's just a few steps from the Railway Station. Overall, a good experience.

The location is the hotel's main advantage: it's just across the road from Coimbatore railway junction. A good option if you arrive in Coimbatore late and need to head elsewhere in the morning. Rooms are compact, and the bathroom is even tighter. The attached iDine restaurant is good for the breakfast buffet, but I wouldn't recommend it for other meals.
