The Orbis - A Boutique Hotel

The complimentary vegetarian breakfast was a real bright spot. There was Idli, Pongal, Vada, Semiya, Sambar, Chutney, Poori Masala, juice, cut fruit, French toast, bread with butter and jam, and cornflakes, with good taste and variety. The location has potential, but the rooms brought down the stay. The furniture was old, taps were broken, and the bathrooms smelled unpleasant. The property needs upkeep and renovation. I had thought Orbis Hotel was still among the best, but it seems to have declined. Management should make renovation and maintenance a priority.

We had dinner and breakfast, and everything we tried was delicious. The bed was comfortable, the rooms were fine though a bit old, and the amenities were all there. The view outside was nice too. The AC was very low, with no room control to adjust it. For the one night we stayed, it was a good experience. The hotel is right in the heart of the city.

The rooms weren't properly maintained. There was no shampoo in the bathroom, and neither the kettle nor the AC worked. Parking wasn't adequate either. Worst hotel experience I've had.

The rooms felt very ordinary, while I'd expected something deluxe. At check-in, the receptionist responded oddly and asked how many hours we'd need the room, even though we'd booked in advance. It was an awkward thing to ask a family.
