The staff at Wall Wood Garden were friendly, prompt, and attentive to even the smallest needs, and the food was delicious. Our room had plenty of space, quality furniture, a good bed, a work table, and artistic picture frames. Being among the natural surroundings also meant seeing different birds, and we spotted a giant squirrel wandering freely, which was rare for us. We had an amazing stay at Wall Wood Garden Hotel in Coonoor.

The food was a big part of our stay: Robin’s Mutton Nilgiri Curry was lip-smacking, and the chef’s regional pumpkin and prawn dishes were memorable, full of local flavour. Geetha was especially jovial and thoughtful over our three days, and the rest of the team were just as cheerful and accommodating. Set above the commercial bustle of Ooty, the 19th-century colonial bungalow sits quietly among Coonoor’s misty greenery. It’s clean, quaint, and serene, with staff who greet guests warmly. It felt like a sanctuary, and our stay was comfortable and effortless. Kudos to the Wallwood Garden team, and wishing them many more stories in those charming walls.

Geeta and Robin were wonderful hosts and made our one-night stop feel special. We came through on a road trip after seeing mixed reviews, and ended up loving it. The tea plantation view is gorgeous, and dinner was lovely. Breakfast and high tea were included and both were wonderful. The room and bathroom were spotless, with fresh quality linen and thoughtful touches like amenities, water bottles, and personalised writing kits. The room’s antique furniture, framed art, detailed quilts, and curtains are beautifully put together. The small dining room is understated rather than flashy, with lovely art and wooden furniture. The design, tableware, and whole experience will appeal if you appreciate those details. A heritage stay done right, highly recommend.

The people at Neemrana's really made this stay. Mr. Robinson was a tremendous, resourceful chap who gave us great suggestions for our itinerary around Connoor and Ooty, and the hosts and employees were happy to help and chat. The meals were top-notch at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had an amazingly memorable time over about three nights after Christmas of 25. The Neemrana's have done a wonderful job preserving this lovely property, apparently a 19th-century Scottiah Bungalow. It keeps its original character, with a few modern touches that blend into the typical British Bungalow aesthetic from our colonial past. It felt cozy and comforting, and I hope others reading this have a great time too.

The polite, helpful staff were appreciated, but that alone doesn’t justify charging 10000 and more per night. The TV remote didn’t work, the cable system had no guide and felt outdated, and even a basic dal chawal and vegetables meal cost about as much as at a top-class restaurant. The room I booked online was the only one left of the four shown, and it was tiny, with hardly any space to move. Thankfully, the on-site person upgraded us. Though it’s a heritage villa, the upkeep is shabby beyond the lawns. The furniture and curtains don’t go together, the entrance and sitting-area sofas need repairs and new upholstery, and they should match. The dining table covers were multicoloured. The room looked dirty, the bathroom needs an upgrade, and the kitchen is very basic. Selling it as a heritage property isn’t enough when the finish is lacking.
