Vijay Raj deserves a mention for keeping the restaurant running smoothly. We enjoyed the delicious food there, along with fine service, a comfortable room, and the large swimming pool. It felt like an oasis near the beach, well placed for many attractions in Kovalam and Malabalipuram.

The rooms and amenities were dirty and unhygienic, and didn’t look like the pictures. Staff weren’t friendly, and asking for anything meant waiting a very long time or going out to get it yourself. Their attitude felt like they were running TAJ. I never expected such low quality and service from a hotel. I’m a country club VIP member, but if their properties are this bad, I’m thinking of not continuing. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Location aside, I found nothing good here. I stayed 3 days only because I’d bought a country club membership and had a 3-day stay offer. The rooms weren’t clean, and the surroundings were in a terrible state. I hadn’t realized I’d chosen the breakfast plan for all 3 days, and the same food came each morning: Poori, idly and Pongal. It tasted just okay. There was no hot water in the room, and the intercom didn’t work for calling reception. Even after all that, they expected a 5-star review. Without the membership offer, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The hotel’s photos on the MakeMyTrip app didn’t match what we found. The property looked old and poorly maintained, and the receptionist said the pictures were taken when it first launched and wasn’t sure they were accurate. I took photos of the room to upload for reference. The first room had dust on surfaces and spiders above the bed. When we raised it, the receptionist said it wasn’t prepared and moved us, but the second room was just as dusty and unclean. Rather than fix the cleanliness problem, they asked us to pay nearly double for an upgrade. It was late, so we had little practical choice but to pay extra, and the whole process took more than an hour. The stay was very disappointing and fell short of basic cleanliness and transparency.
