Hotel Ambica

A convenient place to stay, only 3 km from Devka Beach. The staff are polite, and the food is great.

The road connection to the hotel was poor, which made things difficult for us. We had booked two rooms for one night. In one, the water jet didn't work properly; in the other, there was no hot water even in winter. We were told in the Goibibo booking documents to contact the hotel about early check-in, but they provided only one room at the time, not at check-in time. At breakfast we asked for extra plates and were told there weren't any. How can such a big hotel not have a single extra plate? The staff behaviour was bad, especially manager MD Munna's. They also asked for extra money for the extra bed even though the Goibibo booking documents said it had to be provided. At Ambica Restraunt, every item was overpriced, so I can't recommend lunch or dinner there. We just wanted a knife to cut fruit, but when we asked the restaurant manager, MD Munna told us a horrific story about knives. We asked him about renting a vehicle just for pickup and drop between the hotel and dewka, and he wanted a huge ₹400 commission. We refused because we strongly objected to the corruption. This was all around Independence Day 🇮🇳JAY HIND 🇮🇳. Not recommended at all.

Parking is available, but two cars can't easily sit side by side. They have to be parked one behind the other, and the first car can get stuck if the ones behind it aren't moved. The washrooms are extremely small. It's a poorly maintained budget hotel in Daman, tucked into a small lane. The rooms had a strong dust and fungus smell, and cleaning was poor. We booked it just for one night because we only needed somewhere to sleep, but regretted it as soon as we arrived. Thankfully there were no bed bugs by morning. We left as soon as we could.

A nice hotel near devka beach. The rooms are clean and well kept, and the staff are very good and polite.
