Hotel Ashoka Palace

The hotel is a lovely place to stay, with a good pool, nice views from the rooms, and plenty of covered indoor parking. The food and staff let it down badly, though. Even during seafood season there was no fresh seafood, nothing we ate tasted good, and breakfast was well below average. Drinks were good. We came to watch the India World Cup match, but staff kept standing in front of the screen, which was really irritating. One staff member even rang our bell in the middle of the night to say we'd ordered a water bottle. That was awful. They need to improve the food and the staff. I'd come back to stay, but wouldn't eat here.

The hotel is in a prime spot right across from devka beach, and the rooms are very good. Service was good too, including at the restaurant. It's a good hotel and one I recommend.

We had a bad experience when I had a guest waiting on the balcony for a few minutes. As soon as he came into the room, the whole staff showed up and seemed ready to argue. One person could simply have come to ask about it, especially since the guest was leaving soon. There was no sense of security, and it felt like the whole staff, including security, just wanted money from us. I would never recommend staying here with family.

A lovely spot for spending an afternoon or evening. It gives you a surreal feeling and can lift your mood by 100x. Just pick your seats wisely.
