Cocorico Beach Resort

The fish thali is overhyped at about 650/-, and ours didn't even have salt. The weekend breakfast, though, was truly delicious. We had a nice experience overall at this resort, which has a private entry to Murud beach. The rooms work well for a family of four, with two double beds, but the interiors need repainting and there's mold on the walls from the humid weather.

There's ample parking, and the swimming pool is a decent size with a separate kids pool. The staff were super helpful, ready to serve, and the service was good. Breakfast was limited and disappointing in taste, though the lunch and dinner dishes were great. The chef recommended a few that we really liked. A good resort at a decent price.

The only positive for us was that the property is right on the beach, but the sand there is oily and black, so we didn't see the point of going down. For the price, the service was poor and the place felt mismanaged. We paid for three days, and they were quick to take the advance, but the food was overpriced and the washrooms stayed very dirty even after cleaning. Breakfast ran out, and all three days we had to call room service just to get the basics done. It was a sad experience, and we didn't feel the beach was worth what we paid.

The service was excellent, the food was a highlight, and the chef is amazing. We loved both the veg and non-veg dishes. The swimming pool and games room were excellent too. Our family room had two separate queen-size beds and was big enough for four to five people. The room was clean, room service prompt, and we liked the location and its own access road to the beach. On holidays, though, the narrow, bumpy access roads get packed with vehicles. We were stuck for over 30 minutes on what should be a two-minute stretch to the resort. The road from the resort to the beach really needs lights in the evening and at night. Overall, a great stay with wow-worthy food and excellent service.
