The one person who was kind and respectful was the grandfather. The rest of the stay felt money-minded, with little attention to guest comfort. Even when we asked to take a small plant cutting from their greenery, they told us to buy it at a nursery. That was technically fine, but the way they said it felt unwelcoming. Our room wasn't properly cleaned, and there were no activities or entertainment on-site. When we asked about music or events, we were simply told, “we love peace.” The atmosphere lacked warmth, and the staff's body language didn't feel homely. This may suit very elderly guests who prefer silence, but I wouldn't recommend it for families or anyone looking for some enjoyment. Breakfast was included in the rent, but portions were extremely limited. Dosa or patties came in quantities of just 2-3, leaving people waiting and frustrated. Basic things like coffee, salt, sugar, and drinking water weren't provided unless we paid separately. When we asked for more breakfast, the server rudely said, “tumko dikhta nahi ek aadmi bana raha hai”. They should add staff if they can't manage service, or stop including breakfast in the package. Food was overpriced and not worth it. Two vegetarian families paid around ₹600 per person per meal, and non-veg cost even more. Tea was poor despite being ₹40 a cup, while buttermilk cost ₹60 for a very small glass. Expect to spend more on food than on the room rent, without getting respect or hospitality in return.

We stopped at Karde Beach for dinner and chose this hotel, but because we weren't staying in their rooms, the staff treated us in a hostile, insulting way. If you're just walking in for dinner, I'd go somewhere else and save both your money and your self-respect. They had no proper menu, only a handwritten board without prices, and demanded payment in advance as soon as we ordered. Mobile reception near the beach was terrible, so we asked to use their WiFi to pay. At first they said it wasn't working and refused to give us the password. After watching us struggle to get a signal for two minutes, they suddenly “fixed” it and let us connect. Hospitality matters in a hotel business, and their behavior left us feeling humiliated.

We come back to Laguna Beach resort, Murud regularly, and staying there is always a delight. The owners and staff are cooperative, the food is great, and the resort sits in a lovely spot with easy beach access. There's a huge property to walk around, with trees everywhere, which makes the whole experience scenic.

Laguna Beach Resort is a good fit if you want a quiet, straightforward stay with direct access to the Beach. The location is beautiful, and the staff are polite, helpful, and unobtrusive. The property can feel geared toward older guests, so younger travellers and families looking for a livelier atmosphere may not find much energy or activity. There's no room service, which gets inconvenient on a longer stay. The room and restaurant lighting is poor, and the rooms are quite a walk from the restaurant. The paths are badly lit too, making that distance troublesome at night. Better lighting, accessibility, and convenience would improve the experience.
