The 24-hour checkout policy was practical, and the bathroom’s separate wet and dry areas worked for us. The AC also worked well. But the property felt run-down, with peeling wallpaper, stained chairs, and old bedsheets. Breakfast was mediocre and not worth the price. It felt compulsory more than complimentary, which added to the poor value. Those few conveniences weren’t enough to make us want to return. On the way back, we saw Davangere Heritage Hotel by the highway, and it looked much better maintained and more appealing.

We were riding from Goa to Bangalore and had to stop because we couldn’t continue. Cikada Hotel in Davangere worked out well for a quick overnight break. The manager was courteous and lowered the charge since we checked in late and were only staying for the night. The staff and services were good, and the food was satisfying. I asked for homemade khichdi, and it was just what I wanted. The enclosed, dedicated parking was especially convenient for our loaded bikes. I’d recommend it for a quick stop.

We were a group from Bangalore and our Shimoga friends were very happy with the stay. The property needs maintenance. If it’s left like this, it may as well be called a lodge. There were lizards in the room, and it wasn’t value for money.
