Virgin Winds Resorts

The food at Valley Winds was a highlight for me. The fish, prawns and vegetarian dishes were all great. The villas are tucked into lush greenery with plenty of privacy, and waking to birdsong and rustling leaves felt like a real reset. My stay was a lovely mix of natural beauty and good service. A relaxing spot if you want to disconnect from the chaos and reconnect with yourself.

There’s a narrow approach road to the property, but the beach is only 1km away. The same owner has a Goan cafe there, and the food is very good. We spent a couple of days at Valley Winds Kolthare and had a relaxing stay with good food and lots of space for kids to play. Depending on the group size, guests get either a 1 BHK or 2 BHK bungalow.

We stayed here during Christmas 2025, and the attentive, genuinely caring staff made the visit special. Every meal was fresh, delicious and thoughtfully prepared. I usually like trying a new place when I return to the same area, but this resort changed my mind. We’re already planning another trip and will book here again for the lovely stay, service and food. Highly recommended for a relaxing, memorable getaway.

We paid 3k for the New Year party and came away very disappointed. The food wasn’t worth the price either: starters around 8 pm were french fries, veg roll and sizzled vegies, followed by biriyani and raita for dinner around 11 pm. You could easily find a much better New Year party in Pune for half the cost. Waste of money, and we’ll never go back. They’d sent a detailed pamphlet promising firectackers, lofhting lanterns, a dance floor and food on the beach, so we were excited. But they invited their whole family and mixed them in with the guests. It felt like a granny, aunti and uncle party instead of a couples’ celebration. Their family members lit the crackers and lanterns and used the dance floor. It came across as them having their own party with our money. They did invite us to join their family, but it was annoying. If we’d wanted to celebrate and dance with grandparents and relatives, we would have arranged our own private family party.
