Oyo 9531 Hotel Highrange Inn

We booked through OYO and stayed for four days. The rooms were roomy, with hot and cold water available, and there’s a restaurant on site. It’s a quiet place with no disturbances, and the staff were helpful and good to deal with. The bus stand is within walking distance, the market isn’t far, and you can get an auto from here. The location is very good, and the view is quite nice too. It’s a good option for a longer stay.

We came to Munnar for New Year, but the hotel experience really spoiled the trip. We booked through OYO, and the staff were impolite and unprofessional, saying no to almost everything. They gave us dirty, broken plates when we asked for plates and spoons, then said they had no restaurant of their own and kept no utensils. So even plates and spoons weren’t something we could expect? OYO listed a geyser as an amenity, but when we arrived, they said hot water was available only for two hours in the morning and evening. Breakfast had just two options. The service and staff were pathetic.

The location makes it easy to head out to different places around Munnar, and the rooms are big enough. There was plenty of hot water in the morning and evening, and the bathrooms were okay. But the place feels poorly maintained overall. A repaint, along with new curtains and bed sheets, would help.

The room was spacious, clean, and well kept, though honestly quite cold. Hot water ran 24 hours, the internet was quite good, and the staff were very nice and helpful. There was a slight mold smell, which could bother people with mold allergies. The hotel is on the main road, fairly close to the bus station, so you can get there with a short rickshaw ride or a long walk. It’s well placed for walking to the little village where the bazaar is held.
