VITS Excellensea Karde Beach

The hotel’s setting on Karde Beach is stunning, with open sea views and the sound of waves when you wake up. The beach is clean and quiet, lovely for long walks, sunsets and relaxing by the water. It’s a peaceful place away from crowded tourist spots, and the staff were warm and helpful throughout. The grounds are maintained just well, but the property feels peaceful and fits the natural surroundings. The pool wasn’t great, though with the sea right in front, it barely mattered 😜 I gave it 3 stars because the property needs better upkeep, the reception toilet wasn’t clean, and the restaurant could be better. It’s still a good pick for couples or anyone after a quiet coastal break with beautiful views.

The beach is easy to reach, just across the street, and the location is quite nice. The food was decent and the rooms were spacious and well kept, but the service was below par. We waited around an hour for our room to be cleaned and for water bottles, and had to remind staff repeatedly to get anything done or receive what we needed. Housekeeping and reception were both very slow. Mr. Adil Desai was good and quick at his housekeeping work. In my experience, large resorts are lacking basic service know-how. Waiting an hour for two bottles of water is honestly a shame and wastes the customer’s time and money, spoiling the experience.

The sea-facing location is okay, but there are several hotels on the same road with similar service for less money. The room was okay too, though the AC in the super deluxe room should face the bed instead of the sofa. Food service wasn’t great, with at least an hour’s delay after ordering. For what they provide, the place is overpriced, so I’d try another hotel.

We paid around ₹18,000 for two rooms and two extra beds, but the stay didn’t meet expectations. The room had no doormats, the washbasin tap was plastic, and the bathwater was warm rather than hot. Food was average and service very slow, even though there weren’t many customers. Other guests also said the breakfast portions were too small. The hotel is near the beach, but a road runs between it and the property, so it isn’t really beachfront. At checkout, a staff member stood in front of us until we gathered our belongings and left, which felt awkward and unprofessional. This was my first VITS booking and probably my last unless there’s no other option. I don’t understand how it qualifies as a 3-star property. I’d choose a homestay over this experience.
