The hosts were warm and helpful, and I'd be glad to stay again. Our room was large and had plenty of light, with a lovely view across the valley. The property is right next to the Mall, just a minute's walk or about 10-15 stairs down from it. One of the best places I've stayed in Darjeeling so far, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

The views are the reason to book, and they won't disappoint. Just keep in mind that cars can't get close to the hotel, so there's around a 200-metre walk. If you've got a lot of luggage, you'll need to hire a coolie.

We stayed from 6th Oct 2025 to 10th Oct 2025, three people in a deluxe room at the peak-season rate of 4000/- per night. The private balcony and free breakfast, drinking water, tea kit, Wi-Fi, and electric kettle were all included. There was a room service bell available 24 hours, and power backup with a mobile charging port. The hotel is just beside the mall, with check-in at 1 PM and check-out at 11 AM. Our room was clean and well maintained, with a TV, clean bathroom, geyser, and running water 24/7. The pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels were clean too. It was a cozy stay for the three of us.

The wooden-finished rooms have wall-to-wall carpet and ethnic decor, giving the place a British bunglow feel. I stayed three nights last week, in May 2025, and had an amazing time. From the room and balcony there were lovely mountain views and a peaceful natural landscape. It's only a one-minute walk from the mall. Highly recommended, just an awesome experience.

The staff are polite and very helpful, and the balcony view is breathtaking. Classic Guest House has long been my favorite place to stay in Darjeeling, partly because the mall is only 1-2 minutes away. Everything else about the hotel is very nice, but meal options are limited: breakfast is available optionally, while they don't provide lunch or dinner.
