Golden Orchid - The Lodge

The rooms are clean, aesthetic, and luxurious, and the manager was really nice. There's an in-house fine dining restaurant, but I think it should have more local Nepalese-Tibetan-Indian options instead of exotic dishes like sushi. That may be why so few people eat there. It's close to the mall, but cars drop you about 200 meters away, in front of Prasar Bharati TV station. They will definitely help carry your luggage. The lack of a mountain view in some rooms can feel claustrophobic, so they should make some rooms with mountain views.

Patio Restaurant was the highlight for us. The menu is small, with continental and Indian choices, but everything we tried tasted great, especially the aloo paratha, patio breakfast with cappuccino, and the Indian dishes. Service was very good, though I noticed one staff member was covering serving, billing, calls, and luggage. He handled it well, but a few more people would make things smoother. We stayed for three days and enjoyed it. Our room had no view, but it was tidy, clean, well kept, and all the amenities worked. Being close to Chowrasta Mall was convenient. We’d happily come back.
