Himalayan Gateway Residency

The hotel was mid, and the agency, Sikkim Traveller infront of New Jalpaiguri station, was impatient. The hotel was cheap and close to mall road, about 2 minutes away. It's behind mall road, so going down is easy, but coming back means climbing a hill. Staff hospitality was good, but the manager was impatient, uncooperative, and inexperienced. We were promised a view room by the agency, but all we saw was fog. The blankets were dirty, the geyser was broken, and there was no fan. Google pictures made the place look “luxurious,” but it was mid. I couldn't find the agency on Google. A taxi driver approached us at New Jalpaiguri station, asked where we wanted to go, then lured us to the agency. The person at the counter gave us reasonable prices, but when we called about the problem, he said, “Tell the hotel manager, do not call him regarding hotel matter.” Nobody had told us not to contact him about hotel issues. The person arranging the tour was impatient and used Hindu religion to make us more likely to take the tour. He said the hotel was great but didn't tell us its name. We had to pressure him to say which hotel it was, and he was inexperienced.
