Our rooms still weren't ready when we arrived at about 2:30 pm, even though check-in was listed as 1 pm. We only got them around 4:30. The restaurant view was the one good thing; service took over an hour for familiar, everyday Indian food, though the food itself was decent. Cleanliness was poor too. I had booked five rooms at 4,800 each, and once inside, it was clear the tiny rooms and bathrooms weren't worth what we paid. Two average-sized people couldn't pass each other in the washroom. Honestly, booking based on online reviews was a bad call.

Norling Retreat is in a quieter spot, close enough to Mall Road to be convenient and peaceful after sightseeing. From an upper-floor room, Kanchenjunga looks stunning on a clear morning. The staff were attentive, polite, and helpful. Our room was clean and cozy, though smaller than I expected. Hot water and heating worked, but the heater costs extra. We enjoyed the freshly prepared food, though the restaurant menu could use more choices.

The food was freshly made and delicious, and the staff were always ready to help with a smile. Hotel Norling Retreat felt calm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, spacious, and well kept, a comfortable place to come back to after a long day. The peaceful, nature-surrounded setting made it easy to relax. A memorable stay for anyone looking for comfort and tranquility.

I can't recommend this property after such a disappointing stay. There was a musty smell as soon as I entered the room, the carpet was stained, and dust was plainly visible across the surfaces. The bathroom was worse: the toilet clearly hadn't been properly sanitized before I arrived. The cleanliness problems and staff behavior made the experience unacceptable from beginning to end.

A quiet, comfortable spot for unwinding. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate well, too. It was a really nice place to stay, and I'd recommend it for a relaxing break.
