We left with heavy hearts and can’t wait to come back. MONRATINO THE SNOW ROOST feels like a home away from home, and the home-cooked food was lovely. Ranjit Da, the caretaker, and the hosts were warm, welcoming, and always smiling. The homestay is beautiful, decorated with heart and character. It manages to feel professionally run while still being so personal.

The rooms are more than amazing, really lovely. Ranjeet da helped us manage the very steep road, which was hard for us city people to walk with luggage. The homestay is at least 25-30 minutes from the Mall, Darjeeling, so it’s a good option if you want a quiet setting.

Monratino The Nest Homestay was peaceful and beautifully maintained, with a real homely feel. The hosts were welcoming and attentive, and made sure the small details were taken care of. Our room was cozy, clean, and great for a relaxing break. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and hospitality.

The balcony view was the highlight for me, wide, clear, and one of the best parts of the trip. Ranjith also deserves a mention for consistently solid service. He was attentive, helpful, and handled every request quickly. Good staff make a stay memorable, and he certainly did. Thanks to Monorations Snow Roost in Darjeeling for an excellent stay, and keep up the standard.

The place is very quiet, and it takes about a 15 minute walk to get to Mall Road. The room was amazing, with a majestic view of the kanchenjunga from the balcony, perfect with a cup of tea. Ranjeet, a kind and friendly staff member, can make tea, coffee, or maggie anytime. This could be a good choice if you’re coming with family.
