Summit Swiss Heritage Hotel & Spa

We could see Kanchendzonga right from our Premium View room, and the property is an easy walk from the mall. There are different room styles, from newer modern rooms to heritage ones. The food was good overall, with a few dishes that were a perfect 10 out of 10 for us. Rooms were clean and had all the amenities, though housekeeping could improve: the shower gel and shampoo bottles were completely empty when we checked in. We still had an enjoyable stay and would come back.

We stayed as a couple for two nights in a King Suite. The property has an older section with separate resort-style cottages and a newer four-floor block with modern suites. On a clear, sunny day, Kanchenjunga looks beautiful from the rooftop and common open area, which was a highlight. Mall Road is around a 10-minute walk away, so exploring Darjeeling was easy while the stay itself remained peaceful. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. Food was tasty, if a little expensive. There was a small issue with our meal on the second night, but the team responded right away and replaced it. A comfortable spot for couples looking for a relaxed Darjeeling stay and good views.

The rooftop seating area and kids’ play zone in the Annex building are a nice touch, with a stunning 270-degree view. From there and elsewhere, you get fantastic sights of Kanchenjunga, Darjeeling city, and the valley. The resort is within walking distance of Mall Road, and staff are very polite and helpful. Rooms are spacious and have modern amenities, and the in-house restaurant is good, with a nice breakfast spread. Some areas feel a little aged and could use better maintenance, and prices are slightly high compared with similar options in Darjeeling. Still, it’s a comfortable property with excellent service and great scenery, worth considering if location and views matter to you.

The restaurant had plenty of food choices, all well prepared and tasty. Our room had a mesmerizing valley view, and the rooms were excellent, with continuous hot water. Staff were courteous and kept smiling. The resort is central, close to the heritage DHR and the Mall Rd/Chouk Bazar area. We had a wonderful three days and will definitely return when we’re in Darjeeling.
