The staff were wonderful. Even though the restaurant had closed, they arranged food for me at 10 pm, and the blanket was warm enough for Darjeeling's severe January winter. The place was clean and peaceful, with a church, Tibetan museum, and a few colonial British buildings along the same road. A very good hotel, no doubt.
The hotel’s overall setup wasn’t good, and the staff weren’t good either. During our stay from 2.01 to 06.01.26, the hot water system stopped working for one day. They also charged us Rs. 500 as a fine because hot tea had spilled on the bedsheet.
We booked two days in advance and stayed for two days, but the service wasn’t punctual. Breakfast was meant to start at 8:30 AM, yet that was when they began getting the ingredients ready, so it wasn’t served until after 9:15. The room also fell short. I asked them to clean it, change it, or at least put it in proper condition, but nothing met our expectations.
We’d already gone quite far from the hotel after checking out when I suddenly realized my gold ring was missing. I contacted the staff, and they took it seriously. After searching for an hour, they found it and somehow got it back to me before my train time. I’m very thankful to all of them, especially the man who helped us. It was a really satisfying experience.
Poor management and bad service made this a waste of money. The manager was very rude.
