The food at the restaurant was delicious and really good quality, and the window view added a lot to the charm of the place. We stayed at Hotel Retreat, Darjeeling for two nights. The rooms were spacious, neat, and clean, and the staff were very polite, helpful, and attentive throughout. The location is excellent, just an 8-minute walk from Darjeeling Mall, which made shopping convenient. We had a wonderful stay.

The location is very good, close to the Observatory View Point, and the food is tasty. Service was quick and excellent, and the staff were very nice. Cleanliness was generally good, too. The room could have been cleaner, though. Maybe it was just our room, but there was a lot of dust under the TV set.

The peaceful, quiet surroundings won my heart, and the location is absolutely amazing. We enjoyed our stay in The Retreat Darjeeling, with great food and lovely hospitality.

The staff and manager were professional and treated us well. Basic amenities were available, including a geyser and all-weather AC. But I found the hotel overhyped. A basic non-view room was almost 4900 per day, while the room, corridor, and reception area were all small and claustrophobic. The hotel is very far from the main mall area. For dinner, you have to order before 7 pm, and once the order is placed, you can’t add anything during dinner. Complimentary breakfast was limited, basic, and didn’t taste very good.

The location is the best, in my view, and the open-to-sky cafe is a great place to watch Kanchenjunga. You don’t need to go to Tiger Hill. Mr Kaushik Das and his staff were very hospitable.
