The West Gate Posada By Summit

Bhumika went out of her way to arrange a room after checkout so we could feed our babies privately and comfortably. That thoughtful gesture made a real difference. Bhumika and Prajakta were outstanding, and check-in was smooth and easy. Lunch was excellent, while breakfast was good and had lots of choices, including idli–sambar, puri–sabji, local soup, and more. Both Room 801 and Room 702 were excellent, and the stay exceeded our expectations. The one unpleasant moment was when the lift stopped working, so after dinner we had to use the stairs. Even so, it was a memorable stay with exceptional service.

They were quick and sincere, and took care of everything we needed. Ms.Bhumika at the front desk deserves a special mention for going out of her way to arrange cabs and always being ready to help. The bed was a bit small and could be improved. We had an amazing trip and timez, thank you.

I’m staying at Sumit West Point Resort, and the first day has been so bad that I’m worried about how I’ll get through the remaining three nights. It’s listed on Google as a five-star hotel, but it doesn’t feel like five stars, or even four. The management is poor: the phone number doesn’t connect, nobody explains which reception to contact or what to do, and there’s zero help. We waited a long time in the waiting area without proper seating, and the location doesn’t feel five-star either. There were no proper towels, just basic welcome drinks, no centralized AC, and no fridge in the room to chill drinks. The washroom basin is tiny, so water spills everywhere when I wash my face. They don’t provide laundry bags, and there’s no bar or ice cubes. Breakfast repeats the same things, like at a three-star hotel. I booked a Jacuzzi room for three nights, and this first experience has left me shocked and worried about spending the next three days here. I hope Mahadev makes them better.

The Family Room was clean and comfortable, with a fantastic view. Food was yummy, though service could perhaps be a bit quicker. The staff were positive, humble, and understanding, and their hospitality made us feel welcome. We had an awesome stay in Darjeeling and would definitely recommend it.
