Udaan Nirvana Resort Darjeeling

The restaurant serves only vegetarian food, but there's a good variety. Our room was cozy, the food was delicious, and Mr. Dorjee, Subhashna, Anisha, and the rest of the staff were wonderful. We liked the tucked-away spot near Mall Road, with shops and eateries easy to reach, and we'd definitely recommend it. Cabs drop you at Bhanu Bhawan, then it's a 6-8 minute walk; the hotel's luggage help is useful. Room heaters cost extra, which is a little inconvenient for a hill station hotel.

The room was small for what the hotel charged, and we found cockroaches and other insects inside. Front desk staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. When we repeatedly asked for drinking water, it wasn't brought promptly. Breakfast was included, but when I asked for it a little earlier before my flight, the fruit and sandwiches they served were poor quality, and almost every passenger ended up with stomach problems. A glass was already broken when we checked in, yet around 7:00 AM staff demanded Rs. 150 for it. That was unreasonable. The drop point is about 1 km from the hotel. As of 22.05.2026, I'd urge anyone considering a booking to read recent reviews carefully. Service, food, cleanliness, and location were all very poor. Please Dont book the Hotel Nirvana Spa and Resorts, Darjeeling.

The rooms are spacious but still cozy, and the mountain view is lovely. The property seems designed with nature in mind, and the food is great. Set right in the heart of Mall road, Udaan Nirvana resort is somewhere I'd want to return to.

Getting to the property takes a walk from Bhanu Bhavan, since cars can't reach it directly, so it may be difficult for seniors or anyone with mobility issues. We stayed in rooms 204 and 101. Room 204 was marvelous, with two balconies, lots of space, and a great view. It could use a writing desk and some seating on the main balcony. Room 101 was nice too, though it could do with a little more maintenance. The small private lawn was a pleasure. Food, service, and staff behavior were all superb. We'd highly recommend Udaan Nirvana to visitors to Darjeeling.
