The location on Rajpur Road, low price, and decent reviews convinced us to book, but the stay was awful. The reception was filthy, the lift was out of order and had apparently been that way for months, and even though we seemed to be the only guests, staff wouldn’t move us from the second floor after we objected to rooms 208 and 210. Room 208 smelled strongly of stale smoke and had a dirty restroom. You could hear the exhaust fan racket from the corridor, and dirty mattresses were propped along the staircase walls. At 3 pm there were still little messes outside rooms on our floor, as if cleaning hadn’t started. We asked for rooms with windows for some fresh air, and staff eventually gave us 205 and 207. Then the key to 205 had been lost. Even after we asked them to clean it thoroughly, there were peanuts in a drawer, cigarette ends in the bin, and the curtains weren’t fixed. The room also showed signs of termites in the photo. Its restroom was clean but a bit smelly. We had to ask for fresh towels and toiletries too. It’s hard to understand why this hotel is still operating. Even with the low rates, I’d avoid it.
