FabHotel Mayank Residency

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the small kitchen seemed hygienic for everyday food. Rooms were clean and good value for money, though average. It's about a one-minute walk from the main road, where rickshaws, autos and other vehicles are available all day and night.

They didn't provide any amenities during our stay, not even drinking water. When we asked for towels, we were told each room gets only one, whether it's occupied by one person or two. The staff seemed more interested in how much we'd paid for the booking than in our experience. It felt like the kind of place where you don't get what you paid for.

The original hotel was so awful I don't want to name it: cockroaches in the loos, filthy sheets, and an even worse attitude. After a long wait, the replacement was the funniest place I've stayed in. The manager was angry, we had to wait for towels because staff were having breakfast, and the flush didn't work, among other things. Thankfully, we only had to stay 4-5 hours, so we got through the ordeal quickly.

The room was a mess, and when I asked whether it had been checked before we were given it, room service said yes. The washroom was missing its water gun, and there were no towels either. Water only came after I asked or complained, and later they let us use a room that other people had been using to shower. The hot tap had no water at all; staff blamed a broken solar system and said the hot water had only recently stopped working. The receptionist hadn't mentioned any of these problems before or during check-in. There wasn't proper AC either. This hotel sucked.
