My roommate left after one awful night and cut the trip short. He had to wash everything he brought twice to get the smell out of his clothes. His experience sounded like a nightmare, and I’d tell people to avoid this place. At check-in, the front desk clerk barely made eye contact, mumbled, and acted annoyed. The system kept crashing, leaving my roommate waiting almost 40 minutes while the clerk sighed and banged on the keyboard. Staff were rude and unhelpful when he complained, responding with shrugs and eye rolls. When he asked to change rooms or get a refund, they told him tough luck. The room was disgusting. The carpet had old stains and sticky patches, and the whole place smelled of stale smoke, damp mold, and something rotten. The mattress sagged in the middle. The yellowed, ripped sheets had someone else’s hair on them, the pillows smelled of old sweat, and the blankets had cigarette burns and suspicious stains that made him gag. The bathroom had thick black mold on the tiles and shower curtain. The toilet barely flushed and clogged twice, the sink drained very slowly, and the shower gave only a trickle that switched without warning between freezing and burning hot. Hot water ran out in less than five minutes. The towels were rough and smelled as if they’d been stored in a swamp. He also saw a huge cockroach on the counter. Basic maintenance was poor throughout: half the lights were out, wallpaper was peeling, the mirror was cracked, and the door took several minutes of jiggling to lock properly. There was no sign of housekeeping during the stay. Trash overflowed in the hallway and outside rooms. Sleep was almost impossible because he could hear arguments, loud TVs, and footsteps through the thin walls. People partied upstairs until dawn and doors kept slamming. It felt more like a sketchy motel than a hotel. The amenities were also bad. Wi-Fi connected for only a few seconds before dropping, the TV got just a couple of grainy channels, and the AC rattled badly without cooling the room. There was no fridge or coffee maker.
