Hotel Le Roi Dehradun

After coming from Mussoorie, we spent a night at Le Roi Hotel before our early flight the next day. It was a comfortable, convenient stopover, especially for people in transit. The location is great, the room was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were polite and helpful. A pleasant stay and a good choice for a short visit to Dehradun.

The welcome at reception could have been friendlier and more attentive. That would lift the guest experience, especially at check-in. Still, Le Roi Hotel offers good value and was comfortable overall. The property was impressively clean throughout my stay, with tidy, pleasant rooms and common areas. Food was another highlight, with good quality and enough variety to make each meal enjoyable. With a little more attention to hospitality at arrival, it could be truly excellent.

The location is good, and my premium room was comfortable and well maintained, but the service was quite disappointing during my almost 5-day stay. Even getting water was a problem. I asked for two bottles, received one, then waited a long time for the second. On the first day I ordered breakfast and waited nearly an hour, only to learn when I followed up that they didn’t have my order. Dinner went the same way: after an hour I was told it was “on the way,” then another 30 minutes later they apologized, said a communication error meant it hadn’t been placed, and asked me to reorder. Room cleaning was poorly handled too. I had to call 2-3 times each time to get the room cleaned. The rooms and location are good, but service needs significant improvement to meet the standard expected for a premium stay.

With the hotel opposite dehradun railway station, it’s handy for anyone arriving at night, and the service is nice and fast. There’s no wheelchair access, though: you have to climb 10-12 stairs just to reach reception, which isn’t ideal with big luggage. The food could be better.
