Karan at the front desk was especially helpful and professional, and the whole front office team made things run smoothly. We found the rooms clean and well kept, and the staff were courteous whenever we needed them. Meals were fresh, flavorful, and offered plenty of choice. Our stay at Sterling Resort felt comfortable and relaxing from arrival to departure, and I’d happily recommend it.

From our valley-view classic room, we could see the famous winterline, and the property looked lovely after dark with all the lighting. The grounds are spacious and well cared for, and our room was clean, comfortable, and a good size. We booked early and got the view-facing room we requested. The bathroom was roomy, there was a hair dryer, and we also had a mini fridge. Staff were genuinely helpful with the essentials, and room service was good. The setting is quiet and beautiful, especially in the evenings. Sterling is a little way from Mall Road, which adds to the peaceful feel, though if you want to be constantly connected to Mall Road, somewhere closer may suit you better. It worked well for us to have a calm place while still getting out and about. The mountain views are fantastic, and the lit-up view of Dehradun at night is amazing. Sunrise and sunset were breathtaking. We had breakfast and dinner included. There was a nice range of food, and most of it was satisfying. My one real request would be better tea and coffee. Chai matters to us, and we’d love full-cream milk and proper tea powder, with flavors like ginger, cardamom, or lemongrass. That would make the stay even better. Sterling, you’re doing a lot right. Please work on the tea too! ☕😄

The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained, and among the best around here for its rooms, atmosphere, food, and surroundings. But the service let us down during our two nights and three days. The rooms are spread across the property, with stairs to go up and down, so coordination really matters. Our access card still hadn’t been activated after we asked housekeeping, which was a hassle with a baby. Check-in was disappointing as well. We had confirmed bookings, but our group and two others were kept waiting while reception dealt with negotiating with a walk-in guest. They only moved on to our check-in after we complained. The location is quite far from Mall Road, and you can’t walk there without a vehicle. Overall the property is lovely, but basic responsiveness needs a lot of work. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re traveling with babies.

The buffet breakfast and dinner were delicious, with lots of options and local dishes to try. The resort was spotless, including the bathrooms, and the amenities felt well cared for. We had a mountain room, which I’d prefer; some of the other rooms face greenery and have balconies with a view, but involve climbing stairs. The entrance lobby was picture-perfect, and someone explained the pahadi culture there. There’s also a spa, and the place could work well for a function. We arrived to a warm smile and a welcome drink, and staff brought our luggage and patiently showed us around the room. The team was humble, prompt, and always available. Management made a real effort to keep us comfortable, and everyone’s genuine care made us feel at home. The resort sits high on the mountain, with beautiful views and clouds passing by, almost as if we were inside them. A landslide closed the highway, so we extended our stay. When we returned to the resort, the staff welcomed us like family. We’ll definitely come back.

The buffet was amazing, with an unbelievable range of tasty food. I’d suggest booking breakfast and dinner too, since the meals are so good and quite budget-friendly. The place also has a fun activity area and play zone for adults and kids, which worked well for the whole family. We loved the luxury feel and the views at Sterling Mussoorie. The staff were helpful and courteous, and I’m especially grateful they brought hot milk for my baby at midnight. That was really thoughtful. It made for a memorable stay, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mussoorie.
