The extra charges at checkout were hard to accept: a cup of tea cost ₹69, and a bottle marked MRP ₹20 was billed at ₹49. When we questioned the prices and the lack of clear bills, the reception staff told us to take the matter to the consumer forum. That response summed up how little accountability we experienced. We were eight people, four DTU hackathon students and four parents, staying from 15 to 19 January 2026. We first booked three rooms for the night of the 15th, two at ₹3000 each for three people and one at ₹2500 for two. After checking in around 9 PM, we extended our stay for the next three nights. On the morning of 16 January, we clearly told reception one room would be vacated and the other two would each have two occupants at ₹2500 per room. When we went to pay on 17 January, staff denied that arrangement, although the details were in their computer system. They said their system could not make proper bills when the number of rooms was reduced, and bills were handwritten. Two people were at reception. One gave his name as Ashish Pratap Singh / Ashish Kumar Singh; the other would not say his name. When we challenged them, they became rude, arrogant, and dismissive. I’m writing this on 30 January, ten days after checking out on the 19th. I waited to see if the experience would feel different with time, but it still feels just as upsetting. There was no transparency in billing, no professionalism, and the reception staff were extremely rude and irresponsible. Staying with parents and students made the stress worse. I strongly wouldn’t recommend this hotel to families, parents, or students who expect basic respect, honesty, and proper billing.
