OYO 39725 Hotel Regent Continental

We waited two hours for a room after a very long trip. The manager on duty, Shivham, first gave us a room that smelled of mold and mildew, was filthy and smelly, and had a shower door that looked like it had never been cleaned. Tiles were missing from the washroom wall. Shivham was arrogant and unhelpful, with no empathy. He said there were no other rooms available in the main hotel in the middle, and tried to put us in rooms to the left and right, which wasn’t acceptable. None of the rooms we saw were clean. We looked at four different rooms, with no clean shower curtains, and the ones that did have curtains were so filthy they smelled horrible. We finally settled for a room that was still unacceptable because we were exhausted. The AC didn’t work, and there were mosquitoes in the room that we couldn’t do anything about. The next day my friend complained to another manager, Chandon, who was amazing and found us a much better room that was okay. Ramesh at the front desk was understanding and professional. The staff hygiene was poor too. They didn’t seem to wear clean clothes every day, and it looked like they took for granted that people wouldn’t notice the dirt. Workers seemed more interested in tips than doing a good job. The place is poorly kept overall. Guests seem able to smoke in rooms and hallways, and there are no “NO SMOKING” signs. The bathroom needed a proper clean, the curtains had old stains, and the dust made my allergies skyrocket. Breakfast was okay, though I had to ask for a coffee cup every morning and there were never tea cups. I brought my own French press coffee pot, and I wish there’d been more breakfast choices. If you only need somewhere to stay overnight and don’t care about cleanliness, be their guest. I’d never stay here again.

The food was bad, with only four items and little variety, and it was the same poor selection every day. There was no water in the food court or in the reception area washroom. The reception area looks nice, but the room itself was bad. There was enough space, but it wasn’t clean at all, and there was lots of hair on the bedsheets. I guess they don’t even wash them after guests check out. The bathroom was very small and dirty, and the lights were dim. The facility is very poor overall. The staff are polite but so inactive. My experience was very bad. Please improve the management and cleanliness.

The best breakfast buffet of any place we stayed, with hard boiled eggs, mini pancakes, uthapam, sambar, Puri, aloo dum, and aloo bondaas. They also made omlettes to order. I liked that the chai and coffee came without sugar, so people could add what they wanted. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make the stay pleasant. The hotel has three towers of rooms. Ours had a nice flat-screen TV and mini fridge, plus tea service for making tea or coffee. Rooms are clean and spacious, with nice beds. The bathrooms in the center tower are modern and well maintained. Sadly, the far tower, which also has the Bar and Lounge, had horrible bathrooms. The shower was so grimy we couldn’t use it. A bathmat in the shower covered black mold and mildew.

The rooms were okay, but there weren’t enough staff to manage when the hotel had more guests. I had to call for towels and water bottles that should have been replaced daily. They provided only 2 water bottles each day, and charged for any more. Breakfast was not good, with nearly the same menu all four days. Out of the whole staff, Jaspreet kaur at reception was the only one who was attentive and helpful. The hotel needs a lot of improvement in cleanliness, room service, and the breakfast menu.
